“The pia plane crashes before landing at Karachi international airport” – the caption read.

At the time of filing this report, the above post had more than 1,000 shares on Facebook.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the video and found that the video is old and not related to the PIA crash.
On closely examining the video, we noted that the interior appeared to resemble that of a bus rather than an aircraft. Moreover, the date (which was blacked out) in the video read ‘2019-09’.

We then extracted the keyframes of the video and put them through Reverse Image Search. The results showed numerous YouTube and Facebook links to the same video, which was uploaded in 2019.

In the original video, the date visible on the top is September 28, 2019. Also, according to the description of the video, the video is of a bus accident of one of the vehicles of Faisal Movers–a transportation company in Pakistan.
NewsMobile did not find any official report on the incident. However, the above information confirms that the video is of a bus accident from 2019. Hence, it is established that the video in question has no connection with the PIA plane crash in Karachi.
Meanwhile, according to a Pakistan daily, 97 people out of 99 onboard the plane lost their lives, while two passengers have survived. Read more about the crash here.
