NM VERIFIED

NewsMobile verified the claim and found that the image is AI-generated.

The NM team initiated its verification by running the viral image through a reverse image search to trace its origin and check whether the photograph had previously appeared in any credible news report, archive or other authentic source. However, the search did not yield any credible or official report carrying the viral image as a genuine photograph.

Further examination of the image revealed several visual inconsistencies that are commonly associated with AI-generated images. These include anatomical distortions around Dhirendra Brahmachari’s body, along with inconsistencies involving the arm and armrest of the chair. The unnatural details raise further doubts about the authenticity of the photograph.

To further verify the image, we also checked it using Hive Moderation’s AI-generated content detection tool. The analysis gave the image a 99.9 per cent probability of being AI-generated, strongly indicating that it was created using generative AI rather than being an original photograph.

The viral image purportedly showing Indira Gandhi drinking with Dhirendra Brahmachari is AI-generated and not an authentic photograph. Social media posts presenting it as a genuine historical image are misleading.
