FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be false and misleading.
Firstly we spoke to Mahesh, PR Officer from Pondicherry University, who stated that these social media claims are fake and misleading.
With the help of keywords search, we found an article on The Times of India dated July 16, 2020, claiming that turmeric, black pepper or any other home remedy to cure coronavirus disease is fake.

The same TOI article also claimed that there is no single cure for coronavirus disease.

We also found an article on WHO claiming that there are no pharmaceutical products that have been shown to be safe and effective for treatment of COVID-19 yet.

Further, we searched on Google about the usage of black pepper, honey and ginger for COVID-19 cure. And found that the World Health Organization provides a section for dealing with misinformation. There we found that black pepper or garlic cannot cure from coronavirus disease.

Moreover, we found some guidelines of Ayurveda’s immunity-boosting measures for self-care during COVID 19 crisis by Ministry of Ayush. The guidelines claimed that the usage of black pepper, ginger or honey is only for immunity boosting and not for cure.

Furthermore, WHO categorically stated that COVID- 19 can be prevented but cannot be cured by any home remedies.
Hence, with the help of above information WHO has not approved home remedy for COVID-19 cure.
