A video is doing rounds on social media with a claim that the Taj Mahal is being washed only because of US President Donald Trump’s visits.
“ये वीडियो आपको बता देगा की आप हिन्दुस्तानियों की क्या हैसियत है । आज ताजमहल को नहलाया जा रहा है खुशी होती है लेकिन सिर्फ किसी विदेशी मेहमान के लिए क्यो नहीं इतिहासिक धरोहर को ऐसे ही साफ रखने की मुहिम रेगुलर चलनी चाहिए ।” – the caption read.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the video and found that the claim attached to the video is false.
We noticed that some featured of the Taj Mahal in the video are different from the original one. So we ran a Reverse Image search on the keyframes of the video and found a video of Taj’s replica in People’s Mall in Bhopal.

We noticed that the flooring and the fountain structure is similar in both videos.

 
However, when we ran a Google search, we found several reports stating that Taj’s tombs were cleaned for the first time in 300 years fro President trump’s visit.
The Indian Express reports also state that “replicas of two graves inside the Taj Mahal, India’s most famous monument, are being given a clay-pack treatment.” Clay Pact treatment included the application of a thick layer of clay, followed by a wash with distilled water.

However, we did not find any reports of the outer structure being washed.
This proves that the above video is not of Taj.
