A picture collage of sweets being dumped is going viral on social media claiming that sweets are being dumped at RJD office in Patna just after the poll results made it clear that RJD failed to get majority.
The Facebook caption read, “Sweets being dumped in RJD office Patna.”
Other similar posts were found here, here, here and here.
Another similar post was tweeted by Punit Agarwal, Social Media and IT Head at BJP, claiming that RJD should have distributed the food instead of wasting it.
The Twitter post read, “RJD को यह खर्चा exit poll वाले न्यूज़ चैनल वालों से वसूलना चाहिए। वैसे बर्बाद करने की बजाय उन्हें ही बाँट देते जिनका चारा खा गए थे।”
(Translation: The RJD should have recovered the expense from the news channels. Instead of wasting it, they would distributed whose fodder they had eaten.)

We put all the pictures through Google Reverse Image Search separately and found the following:
PICTURE 1
On cropping and putting the first image through Google Reverse Image Search, we found the same picture in a news article by Amar Ujala dated November 10, 2020, claiming that this picture is from Sirsa, Haryana.
Moreover, we also found the same picture from another angle on Jagran dated November 11, 2020, claiming this picture is of the food that was destroyed in Sirsa.
We also found a full news report by Sirsa Breaking on Facebook dated November 10, 2020, claiming to be from Sirsa.
Another news organization Bhaskar also reported the same news.
On comparing the viral post, real post and another real post from a different angle, we can clearly see that the viral picture is from Sirsa and not Patna.

On cropping and putting the second picture though Google Reverse Image Search, we found the same picture on Patrika dated August 17, 2019, claiming that this picture of adulteration in sweets in Jodhpur Mishthan Bhandar in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
Moreover, we found the same picture from a different angle in a news article on Bhaskar from 2019. According to the report, the picture of sweets and other food items is from Gwalior.
Other media organizations like News18 and Bhopal Samachar also reported the same incident.
Moreover, we also found a full news report of the same incident on YouTube by IBC24 dated August 16, 2019, claiming that rotten sweets were recovered from the confectionery store in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
On comparing the viral picture, real picture and another real picture from another angle, we can clearly state that the picture is old from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh and not from Patna, Bihar.
In conclusion, with the help of the above information, it is clear that the pictures are not from Patna. Truth is that one is from Sirsa and another one is an old one from Gwalior. Don’t fall for false and misleading claims.
