Fact Check: Old video of India-China face off shared as a recent one

Amid the growing tensions between Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), a video is doing the rounds on social media showing a confrontation between soldiers of the two countries.
“Indian Army and Chinese army at loc” the caption read.

At the time of filing the report, the above post had more than 17,000 shares on Facebook.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the video and found that the video is old.
When we extracted keyframes of the video and put them through Reverse Image Search, we found the same video in a report by India Today on YouTube. The video was dated July 2, 2017.

According to a report by Aaj Tak, the video is from the India-China border in Sikkim.

The video, originally came out in 2017, during the Doklam standoff between Indian Armed Forces and the People’s Liberation Army of China over the construction of a road, by Chinese authorities, in Doklam near a trijunction border area, known as Donglang.
The above information proves that the video in circulation is not a recent one. Hence, the above post is misleading.
