A picture of a luncheon meeting between Home Minister Amit Shah, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has gone viral on social media claiming that it is a recent picture in which they are discussing upcoming Bengal elections.
The Facebook caption read, “ब्रेक फ़ास्ट पे बंगाल चुनाव पर चर्चा”
(Translation: Discussion on Bengal elections during breakfast.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be false and misleading.
On putting the picture through Google Reverse Image Search, we found the same picture in a news article by Hindustan Times dated February 28, 2020. 
The picture description read, “West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Home Minister Amit Shah at a lunch hosted by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.” It is also claimed that this picture was clicked when Mamata Banerjee was in Odisha for the 24th meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council (EZC) chaired by Amit Shah.

Other media organizations like Financial Express and Republic also reported the same story on Feb 28, 2020.
The same picture from a different angle was found on Orissa Diary dated February 28, 2020, claiming that after the Eastern Zonal Council meeting, CM Naveen Patnaik hosted a lunch at his residence for Union Home Minister Amit Shah, WB CM Mamata Banerjee, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Union Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

We also found a tweet by Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik dated February 28, 2020. The tweet read, “Such a pleasure having the company of Union Home Minister @AmitShah ji, my colleague CMs, @MamataOfficial, @NitishKumar ji & Union Minister @dpradhanbjp ji at Naveen Niwas. Had a wonderfully interactive time over some home cooked #Odia delicacies.”

From the above post, it is clear that the Union Minister Amit Shah, Mamata Banerjee and Naveen Patnaik is old and is being shared with misleading claims.
