A Facebook post of a man with EVM machines is doing rounds all over social media claiming that it is from Bihar. The post also claimed that the man in the picture is stealing EVMs.
The Facebook post read, “EVM की होगी जांच, नितीश जाएंगे जेल?
पूछता है युवा, पूछता है बिहार EVM चोरी करके कहां ले जा रहा है।
मोदी आयोग चोर है। #Recounting_Bihar_Election #बिहार_मांगें_रिकॉउंटिंग”
(Translation: EVM will be investigated, will Nitish go to jail?
The youth and the Bihar want to know where he’s taking the EVM.
Modi commission is a thief. #Recounting_Bihar_Election)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be false and misleading.
On putting the picture through Google Reverse Image Search, we found the same picture on Twitter by District Electoral Officer, Raigad dated October 20, 2019, claiming that staff reached polling stations in remote areas like Kalkarai.
Moreover, we found another tweet from District Information Office, Raigad, dated October 20, 2019, claiming that Maharashtra is proud of staff members who reached remote areas like Kalkarai.
कळकराई सारख्या दुर्गम भागात मतदान केंद्रावर पोहोचणारे कर्मचारी. आम्हाला तुमचा सार्थ अभिमान आहे 🙏🏻#vidhansabha2019@CEO_Maharashtra

On digging further, we also found the same picture on Facebook by Collector Raigad dated October 20, 2019, claiming that the picture is from Maharashtra.
Hence, this proves that the picture of 2019 from Maharashtra has been falsely shared as a recent one from Bihar. Don’t fall for false and misleading claims.
