A picture of shredded notes is being shared on social media with a claim that the picture is of an ATM in Guwahati.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found that the picture is old.
On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search we found that the same picture was featured in an article by The Fortune dated 2018.

According to the article, the picture is of a State Bank of India ATM in the town of Tinsukia in Assam where a rat shredded the money and was found dead in the ATM.
This proves that the picture on circulation is old and is not from Guwahati.
