A screenshot of a tweet attributed to MNS chief Raj Thackeray is being shared on social media.
The tweet is making rounds in the backdrop of a bitter faceoff between Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and Senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut.
“आगामी 9 तारिख को हिन्दू शेरनी कंगना रनौत का महाराष्ट्र की राजधानी मुंबई में भव्य स्वागत किया जायेगा। संजय राऊत हिम्मत हैं तो रोक के दिखाना।” the tweet read.
(English Translation: Kangana Ranaut will be given a grand welcome in Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai on September 9. Sanjay Raut, Stop her if you can.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found that it is being falsely attributed to Raj Thackeray.
We checked the Twitter handle that posted the tweet. We found that the tweet was made from an unverified account.

While investigating, we also noticed that the user changed the user handle from @RealThackeray (as seen in the screenshot) to @TheThackerayRaj. However, all the replies made to the tweet, before the handle name was changed, were still the old one, which is, @RealThackeray. This proves that both of these are the same account.

Moreover, the official verified handle of Raj Thackeray is @RajThackeray and we did not find any such tweet on his official Twitter handle.

The above information proves that the tweet going viral was made from a fake account. Hence, the post in question is false.
