FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above picture found to be FAKE.
On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found the same picture in which a woman was travelling to hometown with her family.
The description under the image is, “Migrant labourers walk on a road as they wait for transportation to go back to their hometowns in Allahabad on May 24. | Sanjay Kanojia/AFP“
In the above FAKE vs REAL collage, it is clear that PM Narendra Modi’s image was edited and placed along with women travelling to her hometown.
On digging further, we ran a search using keywords ‘PM Modi’ ‘sitting’ ‘Yoga Day’ on Google Search and found the real picture in an article on rte.ie dated June 21, 2015, in which PM Narendra Modi was performing Yoga on International Yoga Day.
Therefore we can conclude that PM Narendra Modi’s original picture was manipulated.
Hence, the post on social media is fake. The picture of PM Modi and migrant labour is not connected to each other which proves that the viral picture is FAKE.
