A post about cab services in Mumbai and Pune is being widely shared on social media claiming that Tata Motors has launched a new taxi service called Cab-E which is a better alternative than Uber and Ola.

On clicking the link of Cab-E shared by social media users, we found an application of Cab-E on Google Play Store.
The app description read, ‘CAB-EEZ INFRA TECH PVT. LTD. is a Technology Platform Operator which supports Cab Managers by giving them a Platform to book rides for Taxi Services for Intra City & Inter City Commute and Car Rentals‘.
We also searched on the main website of Cab-E, where we found that the company’s team members were Kuldip Ghosh(CEO and Co-founder), Indraneel Chakravarty(COO, CHRO, Co-founder) and Nitin Sharma(Co-founder & CEO).
On digging further, we also found mentions of other team members like Richy Somaya, Lead-Operation; Deepkisha Kohli, Head media and Artwork and the Investing Partner Anupma Agarwal of Cab-E.
In the about us section also we searched for the Associated Partners that did not find any mention about TATA Motors or their involvement in this venture.
Further, we also found a post on Cab-E Facebook profile claiming about a rumour that Cab-E is a Tata Motor Company, which, according to them, was not true.
Cab-E has posted a similar post on its Instagram profile as well.
Hence, this proves that the social media posts in question are false and misleading the masses.
