A post is being shared on social media with a claim that ancient gold coins were found in Jind in Harana outside a jewellery shop.

According to the post, pots full of gold was found outside a jewellery shop while the road was being dug for the water pipelines. The post also suggests that two people ran away with all the findings.

इसे कहते है फूटी किस्मत सरकार की अगर प्रशासन अपने कर्मचारी भेजता तो शायद सरकार के हाथ कोई खजाना लग सकता था… अब तो सुनारों की ही बल्ले बल्ले हो गई…

On putting the images of gold through Reverse Image Search, we found that the pictures are from Italy and were taken in 2018.
We found an article by ABC News dated September 10, 2018, titled, “Hundreds of gold coins dating to Rome’s Imperial era found in Italy.”

The picture caption read, “hundreds of gold coins dating to the 4th or 5th century were found in an archaeological dig in Como, Italy.”

We also found a tweet by the Italian Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

We also noticed the name of the jewellery shop in the picture and contacted the owner of ‘Maya Jewellers’. He told us that the news is fake.
“This is fake news. Someone might have clicked the picture when water pipelines were being laid. And no gold was found during the construction work,” Manish, the owner of Maya Jewellers told NewsMobile.
