Fact Check: 2016 video of Rafale air show shared as recent from India

A video of Dassault Rafale, demonstrating the flying qualities, is being shared on social media with the claim that it is from India.
The video was shared with the caption, “#Rafale #Fighter #In #India
🇮🇳🇮🇳#I 🇮🇳🇮🇳#love 🇮🇳🇮🇳#India,” implying that the video was taken in India.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the video and found the claim to be misleading.
On observing the video carefully, we noticed that towards the end of the video multiple people can be seen but they are all of foreign nationality, which raised the first red flag.
Moreover, we also found that no such air show was put up the Indian Air force on the arrival of five Rafale jets on July 29, 2020.
We also noticed that the empennage (the tail of the jet) had a symbol of a bird, but India’s Rafale jets have the tricolour stripes on the tail. Also, the colour of the two jets was also different.

Upon searching, we found that it’s a French Air Force Rafale.

So, we started our investigation by extracting the keyframes of the video via InVID tool. We then put those keyframes through Reverse Image Search and after scanning through multiple results, we found a link to a website featuring pictures of Rafale air show.

One of the pictures on that website resembled the jet in the video. The caption of that image read: AdlA Rafale Solo Display 2016 : AIRPOWER 16 – Zeltweg, Austria @ Helmut Richter
Using the caption as the keyword, we then ran another search on YouTube and found the same video which was uploaded on October 1, 2016, titled, “Dassault Rafale | MOST BRUTAL JET DISPLAY EVER.”

The description of the video read: I filmed this at the 2016 Airpower in Zeltweg, Austria. I can tell you, this was the hardest filming I did so far. Man that aircraft screamed like hell.
