Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, a message is being circulated online warning people against eating cabbage as ‘WHO has said that the virus remains the longest in cabbage’.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be false.
The WHO has not made any such statement. Since COVID-19 is a new Coronavirus strain, till now, no such research or evidence has come to the fore saying that the coronavirus remains the longest in cabbage.
Press Information Bureau put out a post rubbishing this FAKE claim.

Moreover, according to the WHO‘s website, the “virus may persist on surfaces for a few hours or up to several days. This may vary under different conditions (e.g. type of surface, temperature or humidity of the environment).”

The above information proves that the claim is False.
