Several images are being circulated on social media claiming as ‘first photographs of Earth take by Chandrayaan-2’.
At the time of filing this report, the above post had over 5,000 likes and over 3,000 shares.
FACT CHECK
The team at NewsMobile fact-checked the above viral photos, we found some of these images were digitally created and do not represent images transmitted by Chandrayaan 2.

This image was uploaded by NASA in July 2008. NASA described it as, ”artist’s concept of a substorm”.

The image below was found on a website that described it as – ”Space wallpapers HD for Android.”

This image was found uploaded by a website in 2012 as ‘iPhone wallpapers’.

A simple Google Reverse Image search shows that the image has been picked up from the poster of science fiction Hollywood movie named ‘Knowing’ which released in 2009.

On checking the above picture by putting it through Reverse Image Search, we found that it has been on the internet for a long time and it is listed under popular smartphone wallpaper on Pinterest.
Hence, this proves that the viral pictures are FAKE.
