It has been claimed that the man in the picture is Dr VK Srinivas, Vice President of Bharat Biotech and he is taking the first injection of COVID-19 (vaccine).

The message is being widely shared on various social media platforms including WhatsApp.

The company on Friday, July 3, 2020, took to their official Twitter handle to clarify that the picture in question has no connection with Bharat Biotech or the COVID-19 vaccine they are working on.

“Certain image and messages being circulated on WhatsApp and other social media platforms have NOT been disseminated by Bharat Biotech,” the statement read.
“The image being circulated is routine procedural blood drawn for testing all production staff,” the statement added.
