A picture is doing rounds on social media in which a huge gathering can be seen protesting. It has been claimed that the picture is from Indore when advocates of the High Court protested against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and NRC.

“Advocates of the High Court of Indore today supported the protest against caa, nrc running at Barwali outpost Indore. If any action is taken by the police during this protest, then these lawyers will fight the case for free,” the caption with the picture read.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim attached to it to be false.
On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we came across a Tweet by a journalist Revathi Rajeevan dated January 21st, 2020. The tweet had the same picture and the caption read, “Protest against NRC, NPR, CAA in Shivajinagar, Bengaluru now.”

In another tweet Rajeevan clarified that she had clicked the picture in question and it is from Bengaluru and NOT from Indore.
“Not aware of this protest by advocates but the picture is from Shivajinagar, Bengaluru, clicked by me. Had tweeted this on Tuesday,” his tweet read.

Hence, the above information proves that the viral picture is being shared with a false claim.
