FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be false and misleading.
We got out first clue when we found the exact same video shared on Twitter the caption “By Orphicframer.

Taking a cue, we searched for ‘Orphicframer‘ on Instagram and found the same video on orphicframer’s Instagram Profile on June 7, 2019. The post also includes several hashtags like ‘#cgi #vfx #visualeffects #photoshop’ by which we can clearly make out that the video was edited.

Further, with the help of keywords, ‘Tornado CGI’, we found the same video on YouTube by Alexandru Dineci dated December 19, 2018, claiming that the video of this tornado is a computer-generated imagery. It was also claimed that the video was shot with Nikon D7200 and Sigma 17-50.

We also found the same video posted by orphicframer claiming that the video is edited.
On digging further, we found another video by Alexandru Dineci, where we can see how the video was created by breaking down the process and how the stimulation was created.

Hence, with the help of the above information it is clear that the video was created with visual effects. Also, this CGI stimulated video is falsely linked with Cyclone Nivar, which battered South India, specifically in Chennai, recently.
