A picture of a man with senior BJP politicians is being shared with a claim that the man in the pictures is gangster Vikas Dubey.
Vikas Dubey recently made headlines after he and his gang killed eight policemen, who were attempting to arrest him in Kanpur.

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral posts and found the claim to be false.
We ran a search using the keywords ‘Vikas Dubey BJP’ and found a Twitter handle of the same name. The handle belonged to a BJP leader, by the same name, based in Uttar Pradesh. On scanning through his post, we realised that he is the same person whose pictures are going viral.
In a post, he clarified that he is the chairman of the BJP Kanpur-Bundelkhand region. He also said that he will be filing a complaint against people who are sharing such fake posts.
