A video of a person being beaten by a mob is being shared on social media with a claim that the incident is from Bihar and it happened before elections. The caption claims that  BJP party workers were spreading communal unrest in Bihar just before the voting.
“#बिहार में कल #वोटिंग से ठीक पहले #हिन्दू -मुस्लिम की नफ़रत फैला रहे #भाजपा नेताओं और #कार्यकर्ताओं को हिन्दू और मुस्लिम भाईयों ने मिलकर #जूता से #पीटा दिल से सलाम ” the post claims.
(Translation: BJP leaders and Karyakartas were spreading hatred of Hindu-Muslim in #Bihar just before voting yesterday, Hindu and Muslim brothers beat them with Juta. Salute from the heart )

Here’s the link to the above post.

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.
We extracted the keyframes of the video and put them through Reverse Image Search. The search led us to the extended version of the same video posted on Facebook dated June 21, 2020.

A further search led us to the same video on YouTube dated Apr 17, 2018.

We noticed that the report is by News 18 Bangla and in the video the shop names written in Bengali.

When then ran a keyword search and found various media reports from 2018 featuring the same videos.

According to the above reports from March 2018, BJP workers clashed with TMC supporters after Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s statue was vandalised in Kolkata.
This proves that the viral video is an old video from West Bengal and is not related to Bihar elections.
