Fact Check: 2018 picture of Tejashwi Yadav’s candle march falsely shared as protest against Gulnaz murder case

A picture of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav leading a candle march has gone viral all over social media after a 20-year old girl was allegedly burnt alive recently in Vaishali, Bihar. It is being claimed that Tejashwi Yadav took out candle march and appealed for the punishment of the accused. 
The Facebook post read, “बिहार का बेटा और न्याय के लिए प्रतिबद्ध तेजस्वी यादव ने कैंडिल मार्च निकाल बिहार की बेटी के साथ हुई हैवानियत के लिए सड़क पर उतर कर दरिन्दों के लिए सजा की लगाई गुहार। बिहार (वैशाली) की बेटी गुलनाज खातून को न्याय दो। #JusticeforGulnaaz

We got our first clue when we saw a comment on the post calling out the false post. Moreover, we also noticed that not even a single person can be seen wearing a mask.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search on Bing, we found the same picture in a news article on NTC News Media dated December 24, 2018, claiming that Tejashwi Yadav along with local businessmen took out a candle march in Patna, against rising crime in Bihar.

Moreover, we also found the same picture on Facebook posted by Tejashwi Yadav dated December 24, 2018. 

We also found a tweet by Tejashwi Yadav on Twitter claiming that he took out a candle march on December 24, 2018. 

In conclusion, we can say that the viral social media post in question is old, false and misleading. He has not take out any candle march recently.
