A picture of a green coloured vehicle has gone viral on social media with the claim that a Kerala MLA’s car had Pakistani national flag on it.
The Facebook post read, “ये तस्वीर भारत की है देखते है कौन मीडिया वाले ये खबर दिखाते है??? केरल के मुस्लिम लीग के विधायक ने अपनी गाडी में पाकिस्तानी झंडा लगाया l ऐसे गद्दारों का क्या किया जाये??”
(Translation: This picture is from India, let’s see which media will show this news ??? A Muslim League MLA of Kerala has put Pakistani flag on his car. What should be done with such traitors?)

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be false and misleading.
We got our first clue when we looked carefully at the flag on the car. We searched for the flag of Pakistan on Google and found the picture on Britannica that does not match with the flag on the car.
On digging further, we found another picture of the flag on Wikipedia. We found that the flag on the green car is of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), an Indian Political Party.
With the help of a collage, we can clearly see that the flag on the car is of the IUML and not the Pakistani Flag.
Further, we also searched for Indian Union Muslim League and found the official account of this political party on Facebook and Twitter.
Moreover, we found an article in Deccan Herald on April 19, 2019, claiming that IUML Party may initiate legal measures over the misleading claims projected on the party flag by the BJP.
Further, we also found a complaint filed by the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) against the misleading attack on the IUML flag to the Election Commission dated April 05, 2019.
