FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above picture and found it to be FAKE.
On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found the original picture of PM Modi in an article by Deccan Chronicle dated July 20, 2020, in which he is NOT wearing a skull cap.

The caption suggests that the picture was taken during a review meeting for COVID-19.
Taking our investigation further, we scanned through the official website of Press Information Bureau (PIB) and found the same picture.

We discovered that the picture was taken on July 11, 2020, when PM Modi chaired a meeting to review the preparations being made to fight COVID-19 pandemic in India.

In the above FAKE vs REAL collage, it is clear that the original picture has been manipulated by superimposing a skull cap on PM Modi’s head and stretching it using photo editing software. Moreover, the colour of his clothing and the position of his (PM Modi) stole is also the same, hence we can establish that the picture on the right was used to create the morphed picture of PM Modi.
With the above fact check, we can conclude that the picture in question is FAKE.
