A message has gone viral on social media claiming that Home Minister Amit Shah has been flown to New York for cancer treatment as his condition has deteriorated.

Some posts also claimed that he is suffering from a disease called ‘Avian Sarcoma’ and has been flown to New York by an air ambulance.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be fake.
Firstly, we scanned through official social media handles of Home Minster Amit Shah and did not find any such announcement.
Rather, we found some tweets dated September 30, 2020, of him attending a video conference meeting with 200 potter families from Gandhinagar.
His tweet read: Empowering the poor and deprived sections of the society and connecting them to the mainstream of development is the top priority of the Modi government. As a part of which, today, 200 potter families of Gandhinagar Lok Sabha were given electric-powered chalk under “Potter Empowerment Scheme”.

We then contacted the BJP office which confirmed to us that the viral news is absolutely false.
Moreover, when we looked up the disease that is mentioned in the post – Avian Sarcoma, we found that it’s a Cancer that affects poultry and birds and NOT humans.
More information regarding the disease can be found on the website of the National Library of Medicine and Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International.
Hence, based on the above fact-check, it is clear that the viral post is fake.
