Fact Check: Fadnavis' OSD being described as Uddhav's OSD in viral post where he cries on the plight of COVID-19 patients in Maharashtra

A video of a man addressing the media on the current COVID-19 situation where he suddenly breaks down while speaking has gone viral on social media.
Several social media users are claiming that the man in the video is Om Prakash Shete, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the Head of Medical Assistance Cell, who got emotional while speaking to reporters.
The Facebook caption read, “Mr Om Prakash Shete, OSD CM Maharashtra and Head of Medical Assistance Cell, breaks down while speaking to the reporters. The situation of COVID is out of control in Mumbai and other cities, people are dying. #Maharashtra is in a complete mess. #UddhavResignNow #UddhavWorstCMEver #UddhavThackerayResign #UddhavThackeray #Halkat”

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be misleading.
With the help of keywords search, we found the same video on YouTube dated September 23, 2020. In the starting of the video, Om Prakash Shete said “Mai waha pe Chief rehe chuka hu” (I was the chief there), which gave us our first clue. Also, in the description box, it is mentioned that Om Prakash Shete, Ex OSD CM Maharashtra and Head of Medical Assistance Cell, got emotional while speaking to the reporters talking about the current COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra.
YouTube description read, “Mr Om Prakash Shete, ex OSD CM Maharashtra and Head of Medical Assistance Cell, breaks down while speaking to the reporters. The situation of COVID is out of control in Mumbai and other cities, people are dying. Maharashtra is in a complete mess.”

On digging further, we also found a news article on Newsbred dated September 25, 2020, claiming that Om Prakash Shete who was the former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to ex-CM Devendra Fadnavis, could not hold back tears while talking on the COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra.

We also found a tweet by Lokmat, dated September 21, 2020, which clearly states that Om Prakash Shete is the former Head of Chief Minister Assistance Fund.

Also, another news article on IndiaTV dated September 25, 2020, clearly states that he was OSD to Maharashtra’s former CM Devendra Fadnavis.

For further confirmation, we searched for the Om Prakash Shete’s Facebook Profile and found that he is the former OSD to Chief Minister.

Hence, with the help of the above information, it is clear that Om Prakash Shete is the former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to ex-CM Devendra Fadnavis and not to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray as is being claimed.
