Fact Check: Did India kill 180 Chinese soldiers in Ladakh? Here’s the truth behind the tweet

A screenshot of a tweet is doing the rounds on social media. The tweet has been designed to make the reader believe that it has been tweeted by a Chinese user.
The tweet claims that India killed 180 Chinese soldiers during the faceoff between the two countries that took place on the night of June 15-16, 2020 at Galwan valley in Ladakh.
“Please india forgive us,we dont want war. you already killed our 180 soldiers including three commander, China is a fascist country, china don’t care of its citizens.every chinese knows that Galwan Valley is indian territory,Xinping just wants to fool us on the name of nationalism, ” the tweet read.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found it to be misleading and false.
We checked the Twitter handle (wang chung 又是这个武汉妹子) mentioned in the screenshot and found that it is a parody account. The bio on this handle read: “if china can set a narrative then why we can’t ? . parody.

Replying to an article by Global Times, the user posted a similar comment.

We also found that the user has been actively replying to other Indians and most of his tweets are related to India. The tweet pattern on the handle suggests that the user could also be an Indian.

It should also be noted that Twitter is blocked in China and many companies, government agencies access Twitter through government-approved VPNs.
Hence, from the above information, we can establish that the post in question is misleading and false.
