A picture of a hospital ward flooded with rainwater is being circulated on social media in the backdrop of coronavirus pandemic. It is being claimed that the picture was taken recently in a hospital in Bihar’s capital Patna.
“Smart City Hospital Launched By Bihar Government During Covid-19. Treatment under swimming pool, ” the caption claims. The post was also shared by a local politician.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be misleading.
On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found an article by Hindustan Times dated June 30, 2018, featuring the same image.

According to the article, the picture was taken at the Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH) after rainwater gushed into the ICU and general wards of the hospital following heavy rains in Patna.
However, we did find a report by APB News dated June 5, 2020, about waterlogging in Patna’s NMCH hospital after heavy rainfall.
However, the picture is circulation is old, and the post in question is misleading.
