A video has been doing rounds on social media where police can be seen beating protesters and claims are being made that the youth were protesting against unemployment outside MP chief minister Kamal Nath’s house in Bhopal when police lathi-charged at them.

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.
On taking the key screen grabs of the video and putting it through Reverse Image Search, we found the same video on Youtube, uploaded by Channel 9 News, dated June 19, 2018. The video was titled, ‘ALIGARH SSP karyalaya mein dharna pradarshan mein Police ka lathi charge’.
We also found a video on the YouTube channel of Zee News.
According to an Indian Express article, the incident took place in June 2018 when Aligarh police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse a group of Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM) activists who were protesting outside SSP’s office.
The protesters were demanding the arrest of a man who was booked for allegedly firing at two HJM members.
The above information proves that the video is an old video from Uttar Pradesh. Hence, the claim attached to the viral video is fake.
