A CCTV footage has been making rounds on social media in which two men can be seen robbing people in broad daylight. The caption of the video claims that the incident took place in Punjab’s Rajpura.
(Translation: “Look at the condition of our Rajpura. The boys are walking around openly, with the pistols in their hands. The administration is bribed. This is the reason why such boys are looting the people. The police should scare them and not the public”)

When NewsMobile fact-checked the above post, we found that the video is real, but it is not from India.
On putting the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, we found that the video is actually from Lahore.
We came across a Tweet dated June 27th, 2019 by Dawn News which featured the above video. The caption read “The robbers returned to the city, but what did they do instead of escape?” with hashtags such as #Robbery, #Lahore, #CCTV, #Streetcrime.

Hence, the above information proves that the video is from Pakistan and not from Punjab’s Rajpura.
