As heavy rainfall lashed the Delhi-NCR region, a picture of a family sitting in a flooded street went viral on social media. It is being claimed that the picture is from Delhi and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is not taking measures for the people affected due to heavy rainfall.

The Facebook caption read. “#दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री #अरविंद_केजरीवाल जी का दिल से धन्यवाद जिन्होंने #किराड़ी विधानसभा को #लंदन बना दिया।

On putting the picture through Google Reverse Image search, we found this picture on a tweet posted by a verified account by the name, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer. Along with the picture, he had claimed that the family in the picture is from Mansa District, Punjab and they were protesting against the sewage problem in their area. It is dated July 18, 2016.


In the comment section of the same post, we found a newspaper clipping from ‘Punjab Kesri’, with the same claims.


In conclusion, the above information proves that the picture in question is NOT from Delhi. It is actually from Mansa District in Punjab.
