A picture post has surfaced on the internet in which Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has been quoted praising interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former President Rahul Gandhi.
The text in Hindi read: “सोनिया गांधी जी और राहुल गांधी जी निजी तौर पर बहुत अच्छे इंसान है, ऐसे लोगों को राजनीति में रहना चाहिये- नितिन गड़करी, केंद्रीय मंत्री, भाजपा नेता”
(Translation: “Personally, Sonia Gandhi ji and Rahul Gandhi ji are very good people, such people should stay in politics – Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister, BJP leader”)

NewsMobile fact checked the above post and found it to be misleading.
On running the above statement through a Google search, we did not find any authentic evidence that could confirm that Gadkari made the above statement in the first place.
Moreover, since Nitin Gadkari is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet colleague, if he had indeed made such a statement praising Congress leaders, it would have made headlines. But there was no such report about Gadkari making this statement.
We also scanned his official social media profiles (Facebook & Twitter), but there was nothing close to what is being attributed to him.
Hence, the above information establishes that the quote in question has been falsely attributed to Nitin Gadkari.
