Fact Check: Old pictures of flooded exam centres being circulated with JEE-NEET link

Multiple images of flooded roads with waterlogged schools have been circulating online claiming that they are the current images of the centres where upcoming NEET and JEE exams are to be held.

One of these had also been posted as a reply to INC leader Rahul Gandhi’s tweet on the issue of NEET and JEE exams being held in the country despite the raging global pandemic.

FACT CHECK

We fact checked the above claims and found these images to be old. We ran all the images through a Reverse Google Image Search.
The first picture was found in a Zee News article which showcased the day in pictures from August 2016. It was from Allahabad.

The second picture was found in a News 18 article from August 2017. It was from Mumbai.

The third picture was from Haridwar was found in a Jagran article from August 2019.

The fourth picture was also found in Jagran from an article dated July 2019.

Hence, it is confirmed that the images in these claims are old and do not have any link to  to the current condition of NEET and JEE exam centres.
