A post is doing rounds on social media about actor Jason Statham suggesting that he has passed away. It is being claimed that he was murdered at his home in New York by assailants who broke into his mansion.

The post reads: “Sad NEWS, the world of cinema is in mourning, Actor Jason Statham known for his role as Frank Martin in “The Transporter” was murdered at his home in New York by assailants who broke into his mansion. He wanted to protect his family, but the criminals noticed him and shot him.
This happened around 1am in the early morning in a movie I was watching on NetFlix… the movie was terrific, and I highly recommend it. Thank you for reading to the very end of this text. Reading should be encouraged!”

NewsMobile fact checked the above claim and found it to be FAKE.
We started by an investigation by running a search with keywords such as ‘Jason Statham’, ‘Dead’, ‘Shot’ etc, but we did not find any reliable source to confirm the news.

On scanning further, we found an article dated August 10, 2020, about Statham being spotted with his fiancé Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and their son at Malibu beach in California.

We also scanned through verified social media handles of both Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley but did find any update from them about Statham’s demise or anyone breaking into their mansion.
There are no reports anywhere suggesting his death. There has been no statement from his managers as well in this regard.
Hence, with the above information, we can conclude that the news of Jason Statham’s death is FAKE.
