Posts have been circulating on social media with claims that the Adani Group has taken over Indian Railways following which Indian Railways has been renamed as Adani Railways. The posts show a video of a train with Adani written on it.

FACT CHECK

We fact-checked the claims and found them to be misleading.
We first took keyframes from the video and ran them through a Google Reverse Image Search. We came across several videos on Adani Logistics runs goods train – the oldest of the videos dating back to 2013.

Further, since the train in the videos is a freight train, we ran a Google search for the keywords Adani freight trains.
We came across an article by Economic Times dated January 2007, which mentions that Indian Railways had opened container business to private players – among them was also Adani Logistics.

Hence, it is clear that Adani runs a container business as part of Indian Railways, and it has not taken over or rebranded Indian Railways.
