A picture of PM Modi sitting in front of a picture with folded hands is being shared with a claim that he was paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse.
“Now tell me,What name will they be called in our town…? Here a worship for Mahatma Gandhi and Godse who shot and killed them..!!!? The country will shine…!!” the post claimed in Tamil. ( Translated using Google)

Here’s the link to the above post.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be misleading.
We put the picture through Reverse Image Search and found that the same picture was uploaded on the official Twitter handle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, 2018.
“Among those imprisoned at Cellular Jail was the great Veer Savarkar. I visited the cell where the indomitable Veer Savarkar was lodged. Rigorous imprisonment did not dampen Veer Savarkar’s spirits and he continued to speak and write about a free India from jail too,” the tweet read.

From the above fact check, it is clear that the man in the picture is not Nathuram Godse but Veer Savarkar.
Hence, the post is misleading and false.
