NO! these pictures are not a 'proof' of India's latest counter-terrorism action

After India’s counter-terrorism action on February 26, on a JeM terror training camp in Balakot, Pakistan, several pictures started circulating online, claiming to be of the strike casualty.
The caption with the pictures said – Proof of Indian strike. The claim does not specify the reason or modality of the strike.


Same pictures were circulated on Facebook also.

NewsMobile Fact Checked each and every picture that was forwarded to verify the authenticity of the claim.
We reverse searched the image and found that not only were the images old but were of different events.
One of the pictures is of a Pakistani military attack on the Afghan border in 2006, killing around 80 people. It’s an Associated Press picture.

The other one is a Reuters picture taken in 2014. The caption of the picture reads- “Relatives gather beside the bodies of victims who were killed in yesterday’s suicide bomb attack on the Wagah border, before funeral prayers in Lahore, Pakistan, November 3, 2014”.

Other pictures that have been shared are in reality are also of Wagah border incident are-

The next series of images are of the disastrous earthquake in Kashmir in 2005. According to the Pakistani government, it claimed around 100,000 lives and 138,000 were injured.

The last picture in the lot was taken in January 2019 by an AP photographer.

The above photos show that not even a single pictures are from India’s latest counter-terrorism action and the claims are fake.
