A post has surfaced on the internet according to which there is a new Apple company based in Australia named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
(Translation: Melbourne, Australia: Affected by Narendra Modi ji, Filippo named the business of his new apple in the name of Modi. These apples will also be found in the markets of India)

Several people and pages share the post on social media including Facebook and Twitter.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile came across the above post, we fact-checked it and discovered that the ‘Modì Apple’ has nothing to do with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Moreover, when we dug for the information about the Modì Apple, we found that it was originated in Italy and not in Australia as claimed in the above posts.
Further, when we scanned though Modì Apple’s website we found that the company was started back in the 1990s way before PM Modi took over the office (in 2014).

On their official website, we also found that the name was derived from “the artist from Amedeo Modigliani, called “Modì” by his friends and became famous for his female portraits with shiny and bright colours.”

Hence, it is certain that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has no connection with Modì Apple.
