Former President of India Dr Pranab Mukherjee was admitted to the hospital on August 10, and underwent a surgery for removal of a clot in his brain. He was also tested positive for COVID-19.
On August 12, 2020, posts of his demise started making rounds on social media.

As of 2:20 am, August 13, 2010 (when the report was filed), there were no official statements released regarding the demise of Dr Pranab Mukherjee.
According to a tweet posted by Abhijit Mukherjee (Pranab Mukherjee’s son) on August 12, 2020, at 8:34 pm,  Pranab Mukherjee was ‘haemodynamically stable’.
“With All Your Prayers , My Father is haemodynamically stable now . I request everyone to continue with your prayers & good wishes for his speedy recovery . Thank You, ” he tweeted.

We also scanned through his daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee‘s Twitter account but did not find any such announcements.
Her last tweet regarding her father’s health, dated August 12, 2020, read: Last year 8 August was 1 of d happiest day 4 me as my dad received Bharat Ratna. Exactly a year later on 10Aug he fell critically ill. May God do whatever is best 4 him & give me strength 2 accept both joys & sorrows of life with equanimity. I sincerely thank all 4 their concerns.

Moreover, when we checked the article link that is being circulated, we found that it has been removed.

Hence, from the above information, we can conclude that news is false.
Fake news and misinformation about the former Indian President’s death were also shared by some prominent journalists. India Today journalist Rajdeep Sardesai tweeted that the former President was dead which was denied by his family.
